Explore the best of East Iceland’s nature on this private day tour to two unforgettable destinations – Stuðlagil Canyon and Vök Baths.
Our journey begins with pickup from either Seyðisfjörður or Egilsstaðir, followed by a scenic drive into the wild landscapes of the highlands. Along the way, your local guide will share stories of East Iceland’s history, nature, and everyday life in this remote and beautiful region.
We make our way to the west side of Stuðlagil Canyon, where a staircase takes us down to a viewpoint near the glacial river Jökla. From here, you'll have the chance to walk along the canyon floor, surrounded by towering basalt columns carved by thousands of years of natural forces. It’s a peaceful and dramatic setting — ideal for photos and quiet moments in nature.
From the canyon, we head back toward Egilsstaðir, stopping at Vök Baths — a modern geothermal spa floating on the edge of Lake Urriðavatn. You’ll enjoy 1.5 hours of free time to soak in the warm mineral-rich waters, take in the views, and relax in one of East Iceland’s most serene spots.
Please note: the guide does not join guests inside the spa but will return for pickup after your session. Swimwear and towel are not included but can be rented on-site.
This is a year-round private tour, available for individuals or small groups of up to 7 passengers. Seasonal conditions such as daylight and snow may affect accessibility and timing, especially in winter — but each season offers a unique experience.

Traveler pickup is offered in Seyðisfjörður and Egilsstaðir, including Seyðisfjörður harbour, Egilsstaðir Airport and selected accommodation in both areas.
This is a private tour. Your driver-guide will meet you at the agreed pickup location.
For cruise passengers arriving in Seyðisfjörður, pickup is planned around the ship schedule. Please provide your cruise ship name.
For other pickup points, please contact us before booking.
